Wide mouth cooking pot of unfired earthenware, coil built, dark brown or black colour. Called an 'Aina'. Description from Guiana Catalogue: 'The most indispensible article is the Aina or earthenware pot of all sizes, in which the Indian prepares his food and which always forms part of his travelling baggage. It is made by hand without the potters wheel and dried in the sun after it has recieved a coating of colour. In the Macusi language it is called Aina, in the Paravilhano Tumanee and in the Warrow's Horee.'
