Richard and Henry Cuming collected anything and everything, from ancient Egyptian artefacts to the paper bags their bread came in! The collection on display in the Cuming Museum gives a fascinating insight into the history of Southwark but also shows the cultures and everyday life of people worldwide. |
![]() | Southwark Art Collection Southwark Culture and Heritage Services currently cares for the Southwark Art Collection, which was formally housed at the South London Gallery. The collection contains a variety of fine art including approximately 250 Victorian oil and watercolour paintings, ceramics and around 2000 works on paper, including prints. ![]() | Local History Library Images of the history of Southwark Southwark's range of historical experience is a story vividly told through surviving historical documents, maps, books, photographs, and illustrations. These documents, and other historical sources, are held at Southwark Local History Library. The Southwark Collections website features a selection of the Local History Library's collection of 20,000 photographs, watercolours and prints. They provide a vivid visual record of Southwark over the last 200 years. |
